Dungeons and Hero update…

This one has taken me a while to write.  It’s more complex than originally thought, and I’m still discovering it… but here goes.

With one of the latest updates, we got Hero’s and we got Dungeons.  (Wow, way to re-state everything you’ve typed again)… let’s start by going over the basics of Hero’s.

You can beeee my Hero….

Screenshot_20190524-093712_Hustle Castle.jpg

So this is my Hero, there are many like him, but this one is mine…

So the Hero adds basic additions to your team.  You upgrade your hero through running dungeons, getting ‘Constellation Tokens’ that are received in 1 of 3 categories, by trading in Ether (that you get from beating waypoints in the Dungeon).

Let’s not get too far into that yet, but speak more of Hero’s.

Hero’s get Relic’s.  The Relics are all on the right side of the screen shot above.  Here is a list of currently available relics and what they do (We’ll get more into how to get them below, in the upgrading your hero section).

The benefits of each?  Note any relics with a * are a MAIN relic.  You cannot equip more than one of these at a time.

*Jar of Acid: Reduces your enemies Physical and Magic armor to 0, for the opponents WARRIORS ONLY.  This is your basic one.  It’s the one you start with.  I don’t use it.

*Mask of the Quiet:  This one silences mages.  It’s pretty useful in PVP/Arena.  I don’t use it in the dungeon, though some people do. It can be very useful when used properly.

*Sunbeam: This one blinds archers, causing them to miss.  This is good for PVP/Arena, especially if you’re going against an archer team.

*Book of the Wind: This reduces all enemy fighters spell power and reduces their hit chance.  It’s good for PVP/Arena.  I don’t use it in dungeon.

Banner of Souls: Gives you more Dark Souls.  Useless anywhere except in portal.

Banner of Glory: Gives you more glory.  Only good for fights you get glory in (PVP, Arena).

*Corpse Kaboom: Makes corpses explode for 6k damage, damaging the corpses around.  This is good for PVP/Arena.  Especially good if you get a mob spawning boss in the dungeon.

Banner of Courage: Give your more Arena Badges (Aka Badges of Courage). Only useful in Arena.

Ace up the Sleeve: Enhances damage caused by allied fighters by 250 for each enemy they kill.  This is a good one, for obvious reasons.  Useful in longer fights, that have multiple waves of enemies.

*Ankh: Resurrects all allies with 5% of their maximum health.  I love Ankh, I personally use it always.  It’s really helpful in fights where you need longevity, as it will keep reviving your guys, and if you have rez mages paired with it, then they can revive others once they go down again, due to 5% health only once revived.

Magic Signet Ring: Every spell used by an allied Mage increases the Spell Power of ALL allied mages by 100 until end of battle.  This one is awesome.  Pretty self explanatory.

Mithril Shackles: Enemies attacking allied warrior have a 5% chance to lose their weapon for 3 seconds.  Good for obvious reasons.

Upgrading your Hero/Getting More Relics

Ok. So when you start, your hero is kind of bleh.  He only has Jar of Acid, and you go to the constellation Tab, and you see 3 pages.. Warrior Constellation, Mage Constellation and Archer Constellation.

Until you look through it, and upgrade a few.  This is going to look like a foreign language. Let me try and break it down a little better… using the Warrior Constellation as an example below..

Screenshot_20190524-101330_Hustle Castle.jpg

So, the things circled in ORANGE above are Relics.  To open these, you need certain requirements.  You need the amount of RELIC Fragments. (These are randomly earned from Boss Chests by defeating bosses in the dungeon). You need 3 relic fragments, plus the correct amount of Constellation Tokens (Which are Ether, from Dungeon fights, then traded in the store for specific tokens.. I’ll get into this more below.).

The things circled in BLUE are talents.  You need to open their associated Relic to use them.

When you open Relics, you open the talents that are off of them.  For Example, when I opened Ankh (By using 3 Ankh Relic Fragments + the required Warrior tokens) it opened Vampirism.  These talents are available, whenever your hero is in a fight with you, and are automatic.  You don’t need to do anything.  But to get Vampirism (Below) Ankh needed to be unlocked.

Screenshot_20190524-101817_Hustle Castle.jpg

Here’s an example of me not having Corpse Kaboom, and hence, not able to unlock the talent…

Screenshot_20190524-101735_Hustle Castle.jpg

Here’s what it would cost to unlock:

Screenshot_20190524-102054_Hustle Castle.jpg

How do you get all the stuff needed to unlock these?  Well.. either from Diamonds converted in the store, or from doing the dungeon and using the store.

Dungeons… more like FUNgeons…

Ok, that was a bad pun.

So the Dungeon is where you Battle waypoints, and Bosses to get Ether and Boss treasure chests. You usually have 1-3 choices of where to go next. It’s setup similar to below.  One of the 2 people is randomly assigned to lead and you choose which path to take.

Screenshot_20190521-115214_Hustle Castle.jpg

The “Spikey” guys, are bosses.  You see this at the top of the screen.  Each of these waypoints will have different fighters.  It’s similar to previous events.  One might have a wave of 3, that total 1.4 million squad power.  The other might be one team that totals 1.4 million squad power.  The only thing to be wary of, is each point has battle hindrances.  Like Resurrect might  not be available, or Warriors might have 30% less health. (Here’s an example from a boss)

Screenshot_20190521-113732_Hustle Castle.jpg

And from a regular waypoint:

Screenshot_20190524-111607_Hustle Castle.jpg

This is a hint that Tanks/Assassins won’t hit the boss as much as archers/mages.

So each fight, each player gets to bring in 2-4 fighters, and one of your Heros.. it seems random.  But you choose 8 fighters to bring with you, then each fight you choose between 2 and 4 to deploy to defeat the enemy squad, and your partner does the same.  It’s important to work together.  If all their Rez mages die, make sure you try to cover for that.

Screenshot_20190521-115208_Hustle Castle.jpg

So, after enough of these waypoints, you’ll get to a boss fight.  I think there are around 12 bosses, you randomly will get 2.  SO choose your heros and the relic wisely going into it, as you can’t change it once in.

Every fight win, you get Ether.  Every boss fight win, you get a boss chest that contains constellation tokens.  If you use a torch (think arena ticket), and you beat a boss, you get an extra chest to unlock per boss beaten.

This stuff you win in here, is then taken to the Store.

The Dungeon Store

With your Ether (or diamonds) you head to the store inside the dungeon.  You can transform your Ether into specific constellation tokens..

Screenshot_20190524-103621_Hustle Castle.jpg

Or Relic Fragments:

Screenshot_20190524-103630_Hustle Castle.jpg

Or Ether Multipliers/Torches:
Screenshot_20190524-103636_Hustle Castle.jpg

Scrolls of Resurrection are available too, to help you beat a boss if needed (I haven’t used these yet).

Or you can use diamonds to purchase a revolving random fragment, or change diamonds to ether.

Screenshot_20190524-103648_Hustle Castle.jpg

Take your new tokens and relics, and go upgrade your Hero.

There will be another post soon on dungeon bosses, and tips.

April Fools Day event!

The April fools day is here.  It’s my least favorite type of event.. the spin for tokens (Candies) event.

Screenshot_20190401-091915_Hustle Castle.jpg

This event has Grav back again.  The only thing worth getting out of this event are the daggers.  I spent roughly 2k diamonds in spins, and got all 3 things.  The daggers are pretty awesome.  The artifact, I use, but only because I don’t have a better one right now.  The jester outfits are fun as well.

This one is pure randomness though, you get candy for completing events, like PvP, Arena, Daily events.  You then use the candy at 100 per spin, to spin a random wheel.

Not much else to say on this one.  Here’s the loot I got from it though.

New Island Open and New Event 4/1/19! New additions to game too!

So an update happened last night.. lets start with…

New Event for April Fools!

Screenshot_20190328-090051_Hustle Castle.jpg

I don’t know why April Fools is a event/holiday, but I won’t question it. I’m looking forward to it. No idea what format it will be, but hopefully it’ll have awesome loot.

New Island and Campaign!

I was a big fan of the campaign because I played this game for quite some time before even knowing what clans were\did. They even have some funny chat in it, so I can’t wait to see. It seems like they’ve put it lots if campaign checkpoints. 30 in the first one.

Other bonuses? Arena points for watching videos. I could do this 3 times for 100 each at TR10.

Apples for ad watching!?!? Yes please

Way Of The Unicorn-New Event (3\6\19)

There’s a new event in town.

Awesome! Free loot time.

The way of the unicorn event starts when Grab shows up on a cloud outside your castle. The even runs for 9 days, 16 more hours as of 11:15 AM EST.

This Heralds the coming of the event. This is one of the events where you get tokens (Unicorn Tokens in this case) from doing things within the game (or buying them).

How to get Unicorn Tokens?

As you can see here, every 2 hours you can watch an add for 150 tokens. Outside of this, you get tokens (varying amounts) for defeating players on the map, winning clan war points (300), winning Arena battles (25 I believe), completing invasions, advancing in Gem Bay or completing portal levels.

What can you redeem with these Tokens?

So ultimately, you want to get the Artifact, available after unlocking all the items below it.

This is a badass Artifact. It’s backstab, but with a guaranteed hit amount on first hit.

To get here though, you need to win roughly 105,000 Unicorn Tokens. You get rewards (diamonds, shards, some gear and resources) when you unlock things. The level right before the trinket has a nice Amulet, Mage robes, and a Damage orb.

If you were to straight out buy this trinket, you can for roughly 27000 diamonds.

Hope you all get some good loot out of this event. I know I will.

TR-10(Throne Room) Upgrade – Some things to consider about upgrading in general- New Event Incoming

So, I upgraded to TR-10, so I can get my fighters to 100 before the next Event.

Screenshot_20190303-130909_Hustle Castle-1.jpg

First off, no way my fighters will be 100 before, during the event without using diamonds.  It takes 9800 diamonds roughly to get a fighter from level 85, to 100.  Doing it without diamonds takes 63.75 days, per fighter.  But being TR10, allows me the ability to get level 100 legendaries/the level 100 Artifact from the event instead of the level 85 one.  This one will be permanent.  That’s why I did it.

With the last update, the game let us know they’re getting ready to launch A NEW EVENT.

Screenshot_20190303-131309_Hustle Castle.jpg

Grav will be showing up at our gates, and with him a NEW EVENT.  This is a good time to upgrade your TR.

Why is this a good time to upgrade your TR?

Good question.  Events mean free resources, lots of chest, and gear from whatever they decide to give us.  So upgrading prior to an event, means you’ll have lots of resources to upgrade your rooms/gear during the event.  I don’t know what format the event will take, but resources will be flowing, etc.

What should I consider PRIOR to upgrading my Throne room?

Well, once your fighters start leveling up, you’re going to suck at Arena until you get back in a bracket where your gear is good.  So stock up on Arena points prior.

Upgrading to get a specific thing higher (such as Fighter level)?  This is what I did.  I wanted my Fighter Training Room to be able to go to 100 before the event.  To upgrade to the highest, you need 4,500,000 Iron and 7,500,000 Gold.  Meaning you can’t upgrade this room, until you upgrade your Vault, and your Iron Depot.  So be ready to shell out diamonds for that OR do what I did.  Save up a ton of the Daily Reward Chests that give out gold, iron, wood so that once you spend your resources upgrading a room, you can open a few hundred of these and then basically start upgrading another room using those resources.

I did this for both rooms, then used some diamonds to speed up the process, so that I could finally upgrade my fighting training room.  Now it’s maxed out.  Now I have some guys going to level 86. GO ME.

Until all your fighters are at level 100, you’re going to be slightly weaker (or VERY weak) compared to where you should be for someone at your throne level.  Check with your guild leader to make sure they’re OK with this.  In my case, I’m just over 2 Million Squad power.  I talked to my guild leader (Thanks VOC) and decided that I’m still useful at that Squad Power for the foreseeable future, and that it’s ok for me not to be over-powered for a while. (Not that 2 Mill at tr9 is SUPER powerful, but its helpful).

Resources and Squad Power.  This is another thing to consider prior to upgrading.  Save up a lot of daily resource chests, to use them in upgrading your rooms when you upgrade your throne room.  Also have Arena points stored.  You’re going to suck at Arena once you upgrade until your fighters and gear are good, so save up beforehand.

Prior to upgrading, I had 30,000 Arena Points, 60 Purple Shards (To craft Legendaries with once I upgrade the crafting rooms), and 400 resources chests.

If you’re going to use diamonds to “Build Instantly” never actually use that button.

What? Why not?

20190303_140503.jpg

When you use this button, it’s some OUTRAGEOUS number.  Instead what you should do is start building the room, with a builder.  Then click “speed up”.  I’ve noticed the diamonds to speed up, after you start building go from like 5000 to like 3000.  I’ll remember to take screenshots next time I upgrade a room to prove my point Screen Shot Below…. but trust me. You don’t want to use that button. EVER.

So the before Above – 4782 for “instant”. If you want to maximize your resources (Someone on Reddit (user Kamilon) pointed out ‘Instant’ doesn’t use resources)… but using “Speed Up” instead is only 2494 Diamonds.

Screenshot_20190303-164617_Hustle Castle.jpg

What do you upgrade first once you are your new throne level?

This is a tough question.  It depends on why you’re upgrading when you are.  If it’s just to go to the next level, order of upgrading doesn’t really matter.  If you’re upgrading to get something specific, like I wanted the ability for 100 level fighters as early as possible, it’s important to look at that room and see what it requires.

I looked at that room and saw that in order to upgrade it, I needed Iron and Gold Storage that was higher that was capable at my current level.

I would highly recommend upgrading your storages for everything first.  This is because you want to be able to maximize your resources, so if you have the ability to store more, do that.

What ones first? Well I think food is the most important aspect of this game.  You can really only get it through chests, buying it with diamonds, or through the Dining Hall.  I’d say upgrade your Cellar early so you can take advantage of food.  Remember everything costs more food the higher up you go.

After you upgrade your storage (Food, Gold, Iron, Mana, Lumber) you’re going to want to maximize your resource gathering.

As I just mentioned, food controls this game. Fights, events, etc are usually completed through spending food to do the action.  So you’re going to want to get your Dining hall upgraded as soon as possible.

Upgrading a room, makes in unusable for the upgrade time.  I don’t know about you guys, but I can’t go 3 days without food gathering for the game.  Remember you can break up big rooms into smaller rooms.  While the Dining Hall (All 3 “sections”) upgrade at once, is a relatively low VALUE cost, (3.3 million gold, 2.145 million wood, 1.35 million Iron) and could be done easily… you won’t be getting any food for the time that room is upgrading.  So I suggest breaking it up into smaller parts, and upgrading them one at a time.  It takes 3 days.  So you will have less resources for 3 days, but you will be able to continue doing events, wars, attacking people for resources.

Screenshot_20190303-140953_Hustle Castle.jpg

After this, I’d recommend upgrading craft shops.

Then whatever you want.  Get everything up to max, then dominate.

Spring Event.. a review

Sorry for the lateness of this.  It might be of no use to you now as the event is hours away from being over, but I’ve been sick.

What is it?

This is the Spring event, or the event of the dragon? It’s definitely not spring.  It’s celebrating the Chinese New Year I think?  Either way, it means FREE STUFF for you. (Or you could use diamonds for free spins. or to reset the “Festival” portion).

You complete normal every day events, and get these things called LUCK COINS.

You get these for completing PVP, way-points, winning clan war points, Arena Battles and the Spring Festival event.

Spring Festival on the Map

Screenshot_20190210-104056_Hustle Castle.jpg

Like the last event, there are three “Paths” on the map.  At TR9 each waypoint costs 12700 food.  I’m sure this is scaled across all the different TR’s, but 12700 isn’t too bad for 16 points on the map.

The top route is like doing Individual invasion points.  It’s low level guys, who you just walk through. At the end, you get 15 Luck Coins and then a blue Spring Chest.

Screenshot_20190210-103523_Hustle Castle.jpg

Screenshot_20190210-105044_Hustle Castle.jpg

The middle route is like playing 1 PVP battle.  Usually the players aren’t an issue and you can walk through them as well with little difficulty.  However if you don’t heal up, you might have some trouble.  So let your team heal a bit between battles. At the end, you guessed it.. 15 Luck Coins and a blue Spring Chest.

The bottom route is basically Gem Bay with a 6 man team.  It’s pretty easy.  15 Luck coins, blue Spring Chest.

THE BOSS…. it easy.  Easier than most checkpoints on the middle route actually.  But you do a gem bay like fight, and round 5 is the Dragon of the Festival. You’re rewarded with a legendary Spring Chest and 25 Luck Coins.

Screenshot_20190210-104140_Hustle Castle.jpgScreenshot_20190210-104215_Hustle Castle.jpg

Screenshot_20190210-104226_Hustle Castle.jpg

The LOOT

OK. So lots of different loot types here.  Guaranteed loot from the chests, upgrades to the castle looks, an AMULET is the #1 thing people want.. but it’s tough to get, and been rumored you can’t get it with our spending a fair amount of diamonds.  As of writing this I have not gotten it.  You can only get castle decorations from the Boss legendary chest, or the spin wheel (I believe).

Screenshot_20190210-102338_Hustle Castle.jpg

The loot process they chose is my least favorite.  It’s a spinwheel.  You spend 100 Luck Coins (Fairly easy to get this many) and it spins a wheel a random amount, and chooses 1 item.

Screenshot_20190210-102332_Hustle Castle.jpg

Castle Upgrades look kind of cool.  I got the background, the bridge, the windows, the roof, and the walls.  If you get the background, you can “click” on it for it to shoot of fireworks.

Screenshot_20190210-102312_Hustle Castle.jpg

The DRAGON mini pet.. is awesome.  I got a pic of him and the Reindeer in the same room.  I was hoping that he’d eat the reindeer… but then I’d miss TankDeer. Pretty cool though.

Screenshot_20190131-113327_Hustle Castle.jpg

Overall thoughts?

Overall, I wasn’t a huge fan of this.  As I mentioned before, it’s my least favorite type of loot system.  I know all loot is random, but seeing it spin past what you want every time you spin is just annoying.  Also, not a lot of people got the “best” gear from it.  Feels like a pay-to-win event as I everyone I know who got the amulet, spent between 4000 and 7000 diamonds on the event.

It does have some nice little things like the backgrounds.  If you don’t set your heart on getting the amulet, it’s a good event and you can get some good stuff from it.
